Dr. Blaine is originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba but moved to Calgary in 1976. After completing his degree at the University of Waterloo in 1989, he returned to South Calgary to practice optometry. In 1991, he purchased the Claresholm office and continues to enjoy supporting the citizens and businesses of that community. In 2006, Dr. Blaine opened Bridlewood Eye Care. He greatly appreciates the ongoing support from both former and new patients in the South Calgary area. Dr. Garg attended the University of Calgary for three years, where she worked in health sciences and conducted research on myopia (near-sightedness). In 2002, she had the opportunity to present her research at the ARVO conference in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This experience perked her interest in visual science and, following her desire to become involved in health care, Dr. Garg pursued a degree in Optometry. She attended the University of Waterloo and graduated in 2007 with honours. Dr. Stuart Schroeder grew up on a farm outside the small town of Beaverlodge in Northern Alberta. He then went on to attend the University of Alberta before graduating from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry and Vision Science on the Dean’s Honor List. During his training he completed several externships including one at OMNI Eye Specialists in Baltimore, specializing in ocular disease and therapeutics. Dr. Shaun Medway was born and raised in Brooks, Alberta. He attended both the University of Lethbridge and the University of Alberta, receiving his Bachelor of Science in Honours Biochemistry. He then went on to attend the University of Waterloo School of Optometry, graduating on the Dean’s Honour List in 2018. As part of his clinical training in Waterloo, Dr. Medway completed several externships in Canada and the United States, including an ocular disease and therapeutics externship at a Veterans Affairs Hospital in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
