Dr. Stuart Schroeder, Optometrist


Dr. Stuart Schroeder grew up on a farm outside the small town of Beaverlodge in Northern Alberta. He then went on to attend the University of Alberta before graduating from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry and Vision Science on the Dean’s Honor List.

During his training he completed several externships including one at OMNI Eye Specialists in Baltimore,specializing in ocular disease and therapeutics. This, in addition to several other rotations, provided him with ample experience in the diagnosing and management various anterior segment disease, glaucoma,retinal disease, as well as the pre- and post-operative care of cataract surgery.

Outside of the office you can often catch him playing or watching a good ball game, skiing or hiking in the mountains, traveling, or enjoying some quality time at home with family and friends. Dr. Schroeder is always welcoming new patients and looks forward to provide high quality eye care to the residents in and around Calgary for many years to come.

Effective March 19 2020, we have cancelled all appointments until further notice. We will be contacting you to re-schedule these appointment once we have information on when we can re-open and that it is safe to do so.

In the meantime, we are available for emergency treatment such as trauma, foreign body removal, conjunctivitis, broken glasses, ordering contacts, etc. If you are unsure if your situation qualifies as an emergency, please feel free to contact us at 403-873-2123 or by emailing For now, we are open M-F, 12-5pm.

Please do not go to the hospital or urgent care for emergencies without discussing with us first, unless it is a sight threatening emergency. Hospitals are not equipped to deal with ocular emergencies. You are our patients and our responsibility and we will take care of you.
